Big News In Solar U S Installed 6 2 Gw In 2014
The recent solar industry report, U.S. Solar Market Insight 2014 Year in Review, highlights the big news regarding solar energy and one impressive factoid is that 6,201 megawatts (MW) of solar were installed in 2014-growing 30 percent over 2013's total! The report shares that, "Solar accounted for 32 percent of the nation's new generating capacity in 2014, beating out both wind energy and coal for the second year in a row." So as solar continues to go mainstream and growing quickly, Ecohouse Solar is here to remind Central Ohioans that solar is a great source of energy with no downside. The sun shines everyday-even on cloudy days, the solar panels convert sunlight into electricity.
We especially love that solar energy does not produce any carbon emissions and does not contribute to climate change. No fracking is required. Solar does not pollute the water or burn when spilled. It does not have to be protected by the military. Going solar makes economic sense. It allows the buyer to lock in the price of their electricity for 30+ years. It is a great investment any way you look at it. As more and more people realize all the benefits of going solar, it is no wonder that it it the fastest growing energy sector.
