Host Will Build A Biomass Power Plant In Eindhoven Netherlands
The municipality of Eindhoven will realize a new biomass power plant at the industrial park Strijp T in district Strijp. HoSt, specialist in the field of biomass energy systems, has won the tender for the construction of the plant.

The power plant is built to produce renewable electricity and deliver renewable heat to the local district heating network. The development of the biomass power plant fits into the sustainability vision of the city of Eindhoven. The fuel for the plant consists of fresh prunings. The electricity production is 1.6 MWe and the heat supply 8.2 MWt. The plant will generate as much energy as 57,000 solar panels. The produced energy is equivalent to the energy needs of 3 percent of the households in the city of Eindhoven.

HoSt is responsible for the engineering, construction and operation of the plant. The project was launched in September 2014 and the plant is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2015. It is the third bioenergy plant in the city of Eindhoven built by HoSt.
